Caldicott Guardians
New access to information laws (Freedom of Information Act 2000, Environmental Information Regulations, Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations and the interface with the Data Protection Act 1998) and new initiatives (e.g. Connecting for Health) have meant that the role of the Caldicott Guardian has changed. There is now a new imperative for Caldicott Guardian Training; each health care and social care organisation, including primary care needs to have a Guardian.
