Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2005 e-learning


The Freedom of Information Act (2000) and the Environmental Information Regulations (2004) are pieces of legislation that were introduced to enable the public to have access to information held by public sector bodies but they did not provide for further re-use of that information e.g. selling the disclosed information.

INSPIRE Regulations

The INSPIRE Regulations came into effect on 31 December 2009 in the UK. There are separate but essentially consistent regulations covering England, Northern Ireland and Wales;[SI 2009 No 3157] and Scotland [SSI 2009 No 440]. Together they implement the EC Directive above.

Public Authorities need to be aware of their responsibilities in implementing the regulations.
