Social Care & Confidentiality
The sharing of information and service user records are both important areas in social work practice. There have been a number of developments which impact on practice in these areas. Access to information laws, in particular, have resulted in patients being able to access more information about their social care, as well as other corporate information than previously. More service users are accessing information about their care and treatment under the subject access provisions of the Data Protection Act 1998. New developments in electronic records are also having an impact.
